OpenEdge Certified Training Has Arrived.

In recent months we have identified three distinct training areas that our industry would benefit from, namely:

  1. Training for individuals with limited or no Progress exposure;
  2. Further training for the seasoned developers regarding all the new offerings on the latest version of OpenEdge; and
  3. Database Administration training.

We have feedback that there is an on-going problem with limited Progress resources. In addition, AIGS has also had a lot of interest from the “man on the street” looking to upskill in the Progress arena. In order to assist in overcoming the skills shortage and to satisfy the demand, AIGS will provide basic Progress developer training at a heavily discounted cost of R1,200 per trainee per day. We will be offering the “4GL/GUI Boot Camp” for these future developers, be it candidates brought to us via our Partners/Customers, or be it the average joe.

Once these trainees have completed the 4GL/GUI boot camp they will be assessed by AIGS, together with Partners/Customers who require resources, to see if they have the required aptitude to continue further. Should the newly trained candidates pass the assessment, the Partners/Customers employing the developer will be required to fund the candidates next level of training, at normal Training Rates, which will be the ProDataset/Performance Tuning Boot Camp. On completion of the two boot camps the trainee will be fully enabled to develop and maintain OpenEdge Applications.

There have been many changes and enhancements to the Progress Development arena in recent years but we have been unable to provide training for this to date. AIGS is thrilled to which makes the decision, by AIGS to announce that we are now offering an ABL Core Boot Camp for experienced Progress programmers, which covers the OpenEdge Reference Architecture Development Suite.

The demand for Database Training has increased significantly which has led to the implementation of the DBA Boot Camp. This is designed for new database administrators, existing database administrators who are looking for a refresher, and/or developers who what to move into database administration positions.

All of the above training will be delivered locally through AIGS, should you require any information please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
