Now more than ever, technology vendors must focus on delivering value. To do so, we simply cannot continue to push product features or even customer benefits – instead, we need to clearly communicate the value that our solutions deliver to our customers, our customers’ customers, and even further down the value chain.
In other words, know your product’s ultimate value to end-users.

"Always remember to fall asleep with a dream and wake up with a purpose," someone wise once said.I have used this before and, as I find this profoundly wise and now more than ever extremely relevant, I wanted to touch on it again.

In November 2019, our last newsletter for the year, I started with this phrase. Little did we know what 2020 held in store for us. I had many dreams and several plans to reach my goals for 2020 and this gave me purpose.Early March, we saw our world change significantly and, as always, most plans do not survive contact with the enemy.

We've moved offices, established a new way of working and learned how to extensively make use of Teams, Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet and several other tools I'd not heard of before.Whilst traffic might no longer be a problem, the work life balance really requires micromanagement, good discipline and focus to stay on top of.

That said, we have mostly survived the onslaught and adapted to the new ways.We revisited our dreams, set new goals and have become much more agile with new methodologies in place to help us achieve all of this.

Bearing all of this in mind, my 'SALES MESSAGE' for this last newsletter is, firstly, thank you again to our partners and customers for helping to create this new normal and welcome to the new partners and customers that have joined our community in the last 6-9 months ‐ some of whom I have yet to meet in person!

We are excited by our new way of engaging and playing an even bigger role in the lives of our partners, better understanding the customer's customer and working towards common goals.

We continue to be inspired by your passion and commitment to the Progress technology and are immensely grateful to you for trusting us as your chosen partner!

So here we are 19 weeks later and wondering why we spent all those years in "rush hour" traffic twice a day in order to spend hours at an office – not to mention the time we wasted during the day travelling to meetings in other people's offices!
