OUR TEAM
Rick Parry
Chairman & CEO
A true veteran of the IT industry (as far back as 1977), Rick is by no means a conventional ‘techie’. Although possessing a deep understanding of technology (enabling him to visualise exactly how business is able to benefit from its value) Rick is, at heart, a people’s person with a deep passion for anything people-related and an eternal optimist who regards everything as an opportunity.
After 10 years as the Managing Director of the South African Progress Subsidiary, Rick founded AIGS in 2010 becoming the Progress Distributor for Sub Saharan Africa. Three years later, AIGS secured the distributorship for Yellowfin that ultimately split from the original AIGS to form AIGS Insights in 2019.
As CEO of both companies, the majority of Rick’s time is spent mentoring all members of both teams, working closely with them as they continuously explore new ways to constantly go the extra mile, thereby living the company’s core ethos of ‘Making A Difference’.
Affectionately known as the ‘wise old boss’, Rick leadership style is as strict and demanding as it is fair and compassionate, with a huge emphasis placed on individual and team wellbeing.
Within the AIGS and AIGS Insights business, Rick is committed to his role of living the company ethos, encapsulated by ‘Delight at Work’ and ‘Making a Difference’. Across all interactions, both internal and external, he attempts to ‘make a difference’ in everything he does.

Gustav Piater
Sales & Marketing Director
As Sales & Marketing Director for AIGS Insights, Gustav’s primary responsibility lies in building the business and promoting the growing product range (Yellowfin Business Intelligence, Exasol, CMSPDF).
Since establishing AIGS Insights a few years ago, now operating as a totally independent business from the initial AIGS stable, his primary responsibility and focus is to grow the Yellowfin brand locally, explore BIG Data and high-speed analytics with Exasol and introduce pixel perfect PDF reporting with CMSPDF.
Passionate about all things IT, data and people, Gustav channels these passions into personal drivers and motivation as he focuses on building the business and working with our partners in becoming proficient and successful.
Affectionately called ‘THOR’ by his team members, Gustav’s hope is that this is a reflection of his leadership and ability to continue pushing through.

Stephen van Rooyen
Chief Technology Officer
Having started with AIGS in 2013, Stephen initially split his time between the Progress and Yellowfin product range. From support analyst to solutions consultant, pre-sales consultation to research, product testing and innovation, there is literally no area Stephen has not added value to.
With a strong background in software development, coupled with his deep product knowledge and understanding, Stephen is an integral part of everyday operations. But underneath it all, Stephen simply describes himself as a problem solver … in search of his next challenge!
Promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and part of the AIGS executive in April 2020, Stephen’s current role sees him involved in pre-sales and product support, proof of concept, report development, professional services and even instructor-led training.
Known as the ‘resident silent giant’, mostly to be found working quietly behind his desk, Stephen is an absolute rock, delivering enormous value to both our team and partner and customer base.

Dedicated and driven, complimented by her deep compassion for others, Mel can often be found engaging in humorous banter with her co-workers when not behind her desk living her personal mantra of ‘the devil is in the detail’.

JAUN SACHS
Solutions Consultation
The only thing we can achieve, is to attempt to be better than we were yesterday.
JAUN SACHS
Solutions Consultation
The beginning of 2024 saw Jaun celebrate his eight-year anniversary with AIGS. As Solutions Consultant, OpenEdge team leader and Account Manager, Jaun is responsible for all things OpenEdge and Corticon related.
A member of AIGS for eight years, Jaun’s diverse OpenEdge experience extends across many areas. These include Software Engineering, Architectures, Infrastructures, Modernisation, extensive Progress OpenEdge and Corticon product and licencing knowledge as well as development, system and business analysis, administration, and consulting.
As someone who is always up for a challenge and eager to look beyond the norm, Jaun is committed to finding new avenues and ways in which to optimise customers’ systems and operations. He believes that it is by knowing the customer and understanding the Progress technology stack that he is able to bring these worlds together, thereby enriching the offerings both partners and customers can offer. Jaun firmly subscribes to the conviction that the value of a product is not what you buy, but rather to what extent you are able to use it.
Driven and spontaneous, with a ready laugh, Jaun is known for his ‘batman’ like qualities – no matter the difficulties, he will never back down until he finds a way!
As he strives to live the company ethos of ‘making a difference’, Jaun believes that it needs to extend beyond a set of principles, instead becoming integrated into who you are as a person and how you choose to live every day.
“The only thing we can achieve, is to attempt to be better than we were yesterday. At AIGS, going the extra mile for a customer is imprinted in our DNA and we love to do more.
